Sibling Class at Centennial

We took Abigail and Ansley to the "Just for Me" Sibling Class at Centennial. It is for children ages 4-8, but I thought we would give it a try. They were definitely the youngest in the class of about 15 children (and their parents), but they weren't shy at all. Here is how the introduction went:
Teacher: "Hello, girls! What are your names?"
Abigail: "Abigail"
Ansley: "Annie"
Abigail: "Her name is Ansley."
Teacher: "Are you having a brother or a sister?"
Both: "Broder."
Teacher: "When is he supposed to be here?"
Both: "Octoger"
Ansley: "Octoger 16th."
Teacher: "What is the baby's name?"
Ansley: "Well, I call him peanut."
Abigail: "And I call him Jacky Boy."
Teacher: "What's his real name?
Both (after looking at each other with a slightly annoyed look, as if his name is boring) "Camdyn"

They did pretty well considering it was right during their nap time and some of it was over their head, but they did catch on to some of the things. They noticed that all of the children would raise their hands to answer questions. I got nervous every time they raised their hand because I never knew what they were going to say! :)

Getting ready to learn how to pick up a baby and how to gently rub, not poke them

We also learned how to change diapers...and that all babies don't have the same "parts." Ansley definitely noticed the difference in hers, and I changed the subject. We will deal with that when Camdyn does get here.

They also got to draw picture of themselves with the new baby. They got to stand in front of the class and tell everyone about it. They weren't hesitant to run up there and show off their masterpieces. At the end of class, we went on a tour of the hospital and got to see a hospital room and the nursery with several babies in it. They weren't as excited about that part since we had just done all of that when Josiah arrived, but they were excited to see a set of twins that were in the same "box" together.

At the end of the class, they each got a certificate and a shirt, which they were so proud of!
