Abigail and Ansley had a great weekend.

Friday the girls were able to meet their Great-Aunt June and see their Great Grandmother Nee again. The word great represents many things with these two. The girls can't wait to see just how crazy they are!! They both had great days on their cannula. Their Aunt Jennifer and Grandma Mitchell also got to visit.

Saturday started early with a little scare. The doctor called at 6 AM to tell us that the nurses had taken some green gunk out of Abigail's belly after her Friday evening feedings. Her belly had gotten a little big, so they wanted to run some test. The fear was that she had something called NEC. In layman's terms, this is a disease that destroys the intestines and is very dangerous and possibly life threatening. The doctor asked our permission to do a spinal tap to see if any infection she might have was in her brain. They took blood samples as well. This blood sample was used to start a culture. This will tell the Doctors if she has an infection. After 24 hours, the culture had not grown. Several abdomen x-rays later, the doctors have come to the conclusion that she just had some feeding intolerance and she is going to be ok.

Ansley was able to have a real bath. We put her in the pink tub and Mommy cleaned her up real good. She again loved the attention around her head but showed off her little lungs when we cleaned her "tush"!!

They met their great-aunt Robbie and Uncle Dennis. They also met their cousins Dana and John. When they come home, they can't wait to meet cousins Silas, Aidan, and Savannah. They waited out in the waiting room this visit. The girls are going to have so many cousins to play with!

Saturday evening, the girls got to see their Aunt Jennifer (Bland) again. They had changed so much since she saw them last. They can't wait to meet their crazy uncle Nathan. They are going to teach him how to call the hogs!!!

Sunday, Mommy got to hold both girls at the same time again. After about 15 minutes, Daddy got to also. They realized real quick Daddy is much bigger than Mommy and were able to spread out a little bit more.

Abigail's tummy looked much better today during our visit. They continued to hold her feeds for the day. Ansley now regulating body temp and wearing preemie tops.

As of Sunday night, Abigail now weighs 3 lbs, 15 oz. Ansley weighs 3 lbs, 10 oz. Hopefully tomorrow, Abigail can start eating milk again. If the girls continue to do well, they will be co-bedding soon.

Please pray that they will continue to improve and gain weight. Also, say a prayer of thanks that Abigail's little scare was just a feeding intolerance and that the culture continues to grow nothing.
