We are very sorry we haven't had an entry since Wednesday night. We will try to get you caught up......

Thursday was very eventful for both girls. Ansley's bloodwork showed improvement in her red blood count, but still needed to be increased. She had one more blood transfusion Thursday afternoon. After the second transfusion her tests came back perfect! She also seemed like a different baby. She was much more energetic. This may not be a good thing for the nurses!! Mommy also got to kangaroo with Ansley today. She did so well that she got to be held for over an hour!

Abigail had been doing so well with her spells the last couple of days, the doctors decided to move her to the nasal cannula. Once on the cannula she started to have a few more spells, but they wanted to push her and see what she could do.

Friday was also very eventful. The girls decided to switch breathing devices today. Abigail had a few too many spells on the cannula, so they moved her back to the CPAP. Ansley had done so well with her new blood, they decided to try her on the cannula. Abigail thought she would try to make all things equal and get two blood transfusions of her own. They gave her one dose this morning and they will begin the second at 1:00 Saturday morning. If she is anything like Daddy, she is going to be mad when they wake her up at 1:00 just for that!!

We just spoke to their nurse for the evening and she said they were both doing well. Ansley has done sooooo well since her transfusion!! She is breathing room air with very little pressure to remind her to breathe and she is having very few spells.

Ansley lost a little weight, but it is mostly due to the fact she was not fed the last two days due to the transfusions. Her weight is 2lb, 11 oz.

Abigail weighed in at 3lb, 3.8 oz.

Please pray that the girls will continue to do well with the additional blood and they continue to progress.

A special congratulations to Aunt Jennifer for officially getting her diploma for her Masters in Nursing. She will be starting as a Nurse Practitioner in the stem cell unit of Vanderbilt in June!

Abigail and Ansley also say thank you to Grandpa and Grandma Mitchell, Aunt Jennifer, Aunt Sarah, and Jeramy for their visits today! They were glad they could show off for you guys while on the nasal cannulas!!!
