Today our girls started acting a little more “normal” for the doctors and nurses. They were both having apnea spells that kept the staff pretty busy running to their sides, but most of the time they came out of the spells on their own. Ansley was taken off the cannula and moved back to the C-PAP machine. Abigail was doing well on her C-PAP, so they moved her back to the cannula and did well for a little while but started having apnea spells again.

At our visit today, Rebecca was able to “kangaroo” with Abigail. She did pretty well once Rebecca finally convinced the nurse that Abigail was uncomfortable and to let her get her situated!!

Abigail was NPO (not eating again), while Ansley had two good feedings with no negative reaction. This is a great thing. This is how they will put on the weight that will allow us to bring them home.

Abigail weighed 2 lbs, 5.3 oz as she had another weight gain. Ansley weighed 1lb, 7.2 oz with a slight loss of 10 grams.

When I called the nurse to check on them at 9:50 PM, Ansley was doing well on her C-PAP. Abigail had experienced 2 spells since 7:00. The nurse had told the doctor and the doctor had decided for now to see how she did for a while longer with the lights turned out for the night and fewer noises (all the other children’s daytime visitors are so loud!!).

Please continue to pray that the apnea spells decrease and that both girls can accept Mommy’s milk and put some weight on.
