Weekend Update.....
We had a busy weekend with Eric's family coming to visit the girls and two baby showers so we are just now giving you an update. The girls had good weekends with continued apnea spells but the doctors and nurses say they are just acting their age. We are very proud of them. Since our last posting, there has been significant weight gain!! Abigail now weighs 2lbs, 7.1 oz. Ansley has passed a huge milestone over the weekend. She now weighs 2lbs, 3.3oz. Tonight at our visit we took Ansley out of her bed to weigh her and disconnected the CPAP machine. She did very well with no assistance breathing. The nurse said it was a significant improvement over last night when she would forget to breathe. The doctor today said that the girls have "fallen in love with these machines" and he is going to wean them off day by day. They have both shown signs that they don't necessarily need the machines, but enjoy the rest it gives them! He said that they are "very intelligent". Much like a dog that won't do a trick without first seeing its treat, they know that these machines are helping them so they have been giving some resistance when they are taken away.
Every day when we leave, we take home a load of dirty blankets. We have been told several times that the nurses fight over who is going to take care of our girls each day. Among the reasons why is that they enjoy decorating their beds with coordinating blankets. There are as many as four different blankets (mostly pink of course) on each bed at a time. So when a diaper leaks, there is a change of scenery and mommy gets to do laundry!!
Please pray that the girls little brains will continue to develop and constantly remind their little lungs to breathe. The last couple of days have shown dramatic improvements.

They are precious! Thanks for the updates... I have been wondering how they've been doing. Give them a kiss for me!
