The girls had a great day today. Ansley is really starting to show that she is extremely stubborn! When the girls have their apnea spells, it is very common for the nurses to come over and wake them up, and usually a rub on the back will remind them that they need to breathe again. When Ansley stops breathing, she really makes the nurses work hard. Today during our visit, we watched the nurse "thump" her on her foot several times, roll her on her belly, and all but spank her before she decided she would give in and breathe!! We are trying to figure out who she is more like...her mother, stubborn and hard-headed, or her father, who is lazy, stubborn, and hard-headed!!! :)
The doctor ordered both girls be given iron. They both showed signs of anemia, which is common. They will probably be given iron until just before they come home.
Ansley was the big winner today with the most weight gain. She weighed in at 2lbs, 12 oz. Abigail held her weight at 3 lbs. Both are still doing ok with their feedings.
Please keep Abigail and Ansley's apnea spells in your prayers.

Bless their hearts!!! And yours! I can't imagine how difficult it is to watch yout babies try to "remember to breathe"! ... it has to only get better from here. You are in our prayers, and I'm praying they only need a "love tap" from now on to remember! Those stinkers! They MUST take after their mommy... hehe! Just kidding! Love you guys!!!
