Pumpkin Fest 2008 and Trunk or Treat

On Saturday morning, we went to Pumpkin Fest in downtown Franklin. We have gone every year since Abigail and Ansley were born, but this was their first year to actually be able to enjoy the activities. They were able to play on lots of different inflatables, see lots of different characters, enjoy their first pony rides, and get lots of candy and treats.

With Scooby Doo and Tigger. We didn't get a picture with Dora, but she was also a favorite.

We ran into the Sciortino boys while we were there.

Daddy was trying to show the girls how you are supposed to lay on the bed and watch tv. Apparently, this is an important skill to master. :)

After naps and a little down time, we went to Trunk or Treat at church. It was such a beautiful night. Everyone enjoyed the pinata, yummy chili and desserts, and then, finally, the trunk or treating. The girls had their own strategy. If a bowl was lowered for them to take a piece of candy, they would grab a handful or two. Also, if the "treat giver" was distracted by other children, the girls would just walk right up to their cars and help themselves to the candy. For next year, we will need to work on Trunk or Treat etiquette.

Uncle Matthew and Emery came to see the girls in their costumes.

We had twin cowgirls and twin cowboys, which was a complete coincidence but very adorable!

Abigail and Ansley won a prize for their costumes, but I think we need to thank Molly and Sarah for passing them down!

Aunt Jennifer came to see the girls and help with their Trunk or Treating. Once she got there, Mommy and Daddy were no longer able to help. They wanted her to do everything...hold their baskets, hands, and then they would only take a good picture with her.

This may appear to be a decent family picture, but if you look closely Daddy is trying to appear pleasant while wrestling with Abigail to stay still for the picture.
